Drag racers - If you're tuning your car, bike, truck at the track, quit guessing how the weather affects your passes.  Now you can know second by second with the Altronics PerformAire PC Weather Station & paging system - allowing you to adjust your tune-up in the lanes until you stage.
We last used this on my Nitro Harley team and it was invaluable.  GOW, O2, humidity, temp, wind speed and direction, graphical trends, it's got it all.  If you're running a Racepak data recorder, it will export the weather for the exact time of your pass.  For you bracket and index racers, the Raceworks log and prediction software will help get you to the stripe without breaking out.
This system is just as you see in the photos - the paging transmitter and pager have never been used.  The transmitter did not come with a power supply, we provided our own since we planned on using it but just never got around to it.  It can be hardwired into the race rig, it runs on 12 volts.  Altronics offers an AC adapter as an alternative, and you can likely find one right here on eBay for a few $. The transmitter needs an antenna
that can be picked up at any decent radio/CB shop - just make sure they know it transmits on 463.8 Mhz.  The weather station has the O2 option (oxygen) for more granular detail on conditions and how it impacts performance. Also included are a couple of the rubber brackets we mounted the pole to the trailer once at the track, making sure the weather station was at least 3 feet above the roof.  There's a dot on the sensor that gets pointed towards the stripe so the wind speed and direction will be correct when the Raceworks software factors head/tailwinds into it's performance estimation.
As the Raceworks application is licensed to an individual, you will need to acquire your own copy if you don't already have one.
When I purchased this system new, it was around 00.  The equivalent unit at Altronics is now 50.  You can save some serious $$$$ picking this one up.
